For all of you who remember the tracks out in front of the house, here is a photo of the railroad ties that was left in place at the drive approach of the old bridge. I just remember stories about the railroad tracks, not the rails. I don't even remember the rails there, but they have become exposed and so I had to share the photo. I hope that all those that do remember, has good memories of them.
Here are a few photos of the new bridge as of Friday May 7th. I was in Brigham City working and so I took a little trip up to the hospital and Mom was just released. Dad and Mom was in the car just getting ready to leave to go home. So I went home and waited for them to get home. Carl was out at the corn pit loading feed for the cows, so I visited with him for awhile. When Dad and Mom got home, we visited for awhile, and then I helped Dad cut some wood. Yes, it is cold enough that they are still having a fire in the stove. It's the first part of May, and still cold enough for a fire, that is sad. Anyway, I also took some photos of how the bridge is coming along.
I am pretty sure that they will be getting mud on the deck of the bridge this week. They are coming along really good on the bridge. As you can see, the water has been turned into the canal.
So if anyone wants to jump off the old bridge into the canal, this summer will most likely be the last time that you can do it.
eeeeeeeewwwww, that is gross! The canal water is filthy. The bridge looks good though. Thanks for checking in on the home and mom and dad for us.
ReplyDeleteI have a request. Next time you are there, will you please take a picture of the old bridge and the new bridge together.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the photos.
